Unlock your creativity and explore watercolor with a focus on light and mood. In this three-day workshop led by master watercolorist Joel Popadics, you'll learn techniques to bring color and clarity to your paintings. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, this workshop will help you to mix colors accurately, avoid muddiness, and create fresh, clean washes employing a wet-in-wet technique.
Joel is noted for his traditional approach to watercolor, in particular, his use of green which has been passed down to him by a teacher who studied with the highly regarded American Impressionist painter and instructor Frank Vincent DuMond (1865 - 1951). He has adapted DuMond's principles and unique palette to his methods in watercolor..

You'll gain skills to mix naturalistic colors for landscape and develop confidence in handling the challenge that the color green presents. From skies to trees, this workshop will cover it all. Techniques for creating clouds and moody weather will be explored, as well as how to handle many aspects of the landscape.
We’ll kickstart each morning and afternoon session with a painting demonstration that explores a variety of topics, followed by hands-on opportunities for you to apply the concepts addressed in the demos. Throughout the day, you’ll receive personalized instruction tailored to your individual needs and skill level.

Bring your own photos or sketches (especially those with strong light and shadow), and learn how to translate them into dynamic watercolors.

Don’t miss this chance to enhance your watercolor skills and unleash your creativity!
